Our Mission
The Conversation Art Podcast explores the contemporary art world through conversations with a range of participants from the center to the fringes and back again. Through frank and incisive exchanges, the show sheds light on what goes on behind the scenes, whether in a studio, a gallery or in the backroom. Artists, industry professionals and students alike gain an insider’s view of these often opaque machinations at work.
Our Story
Michael Shaw, an artist based in L.A., launched The Conversation Art Podcast in 2011, inspired by the podcast medium and its more performance-like approach to conversation, as opposed to traditional interview Q & A’s.The Conversation took part in a radio residency at The Getty Museum in February of 2017.
The Conversation is part of the podcast network Cultural Bandwidth, an international podcast group launched in July 2018.
You can listen to episodes on our site, all major podcast platforms, and monthly on KCHUNG radio in Los Angeles.
